What You’ll Actually Do
• Client Engagement: Proactively engage with clients throughout the year to gather necessary information for testing and to respond to questions raised.
• Audit Execution: Plan and supervise the execution of all audit engagement activities for industry-specific clients.
• Financial Statement Review: Review and perform substantive testing on clients’ balance sheets and income statements.
• Internal Controls Assessment: Conduct and review tests to assess deficiencies of internal controls and formulate recommendations for improvement.
• Strategic Advisory: Play an active role in discussions with the Manager and Partner, contributing to business recommendations derived from testing and information gathered.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Requires a 4-year degree with sufficient coursework to be eligible to sit for the CPA exam, establishing foundational knowledge in accounting and finance for a senior-level audit role.
• Experience: A minimum of three years of experience providing financial statement auditing services within a public accounting firm is required, with a preference for experience auditing commercial clients.
• Skills: Demonstrated skills include effective time management, clear communication, strong interpersonal skills, relationship building, collaboration, and proficient problem-solving abilities, along with strong leadership, project management, organizational, analytical skills, initiative, and adaptability.
• Bonus: A CPA certification is preferred or actively pursuing completion of the exam, along with eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
