Audit Winter Internship – Irvine | UHY-US
The Tone:
This is a temporary internship at UHY-US, located in Irvine, CA. UHY-US is one of the nation’s largest professional services firms, providing audit, tax, consulting, and advisory services to clients primarily in the dynamic middle market. This role offers the unique opportunity to gain practical experience in the field of audit and assurance, working alongside experienced professionals and contributing to the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting for a diverse clientele.
The TL;DR

What You’ll Actually Do
• Collaboration & Data Management: Collaborate with audit teams to perform essential tasks such as data entry, meticulous documentation preparation, and basic analysis of financial information.
• Audit Procedures: Assist in conducting various audit procedures, including both substantive testing and control testing, supporting the overall audit engagement.
• File Maintenance & Reporting: Support the maintenance of audit files and documentation, ensuring they are accurate, organized, and compliant with firm standards, and assist in the preparation of detailed workpapers and audit reports.
• Financial Analysis: Assist in compiling financial data, transactions, and other relevant information for audit analysis, and participate in basic analytical procedures to identify trends, anomalies, and potential issues.
• Learning & Development: Actively engage in training sessions and learning opportunities to enhance understanding of audit concepts, practices, and software tools, while seeking guidance from team members to expand knowledge and skill set.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently enrolled at an accredited college/university, actively pursuing a degree in accounting, finance, or a closely related field. A High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent certificate, is also required.
• Experience: 0 – 1 year of relevant experience in a professional setting. This is an entry-level position designed for individuals seeking initial exposure to the audit field.
• Skills: Proficiency in data entry, documentation preparation, and basic financial analysis. Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy and completeness, alongside effective communication skills for team updates and insights.
• Bonus: A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred for candidates.
