Tax Intern, Global Executive & Private Client Group | Atlanta Winter 2028 | KPMG US

The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Location: In-person Atlanta, GA
• Team: Global Executive & Private Client Group practice in Tax, supporting Associates and Senior Associates.
• Mission: To assist clients with the complexities of international tax implications, compliance, and global mobility program management for executives and corporations.
• Tech Stack: artificial intelligence (AI), Alteryx, Power BI, MS Office Applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)

What You’ll Actually Do
• Support clients in analyzing tax implications of international work, including preparing income tax returns in multiple jurisdictions, utilizing foreign tax credits, and identifying global tax planning opportunities.
• Assist corporations with establishing operations in new countries, ensuring compliance with applicable tax and social tax requirements for both the corporations and their executives.
• Help clients determine executive compensation packages for international assignments and support the global payroll process, ensuring adherence to country-specific laws.
• Provide global coordination and support to KPMG’s corporate clients across all aspects of managing their global workforce and mobility programs, including process and technology implementation.
• Build capabilities in key technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), Alteryx, and Power BI to enhance client service delivery.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level, pursuing a Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree with a concentration in Tax, Accounting, International Business, Human Resources, Finance, or an equivalent program.
• Experience: Ability to analyze basic tax and accounting information; demonstrated ability to learn and navigate technologies and apply emerging technologies.
• Skills: Strong technical, business acumen, critical thinking, and agility skills; demonstrated quality service mindset, excellent communication, time management, and leadership skills; feedback oriented and resourceful; ability to travel and/or work on-site at client premises.
• Bonus: Preferred GPA of 3.0 or above; additional academic credits to complete post-internship for degree/CPA eligibility; Bilingual in English and Japanese for business environments; coursework or minor in information systems, software engineering, computer science, or data and analytics; authorization to work in the U.S. without employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future.
