Assurance Intern – Summer 2027 | RSM US LLP

In this role, you will contribute to the assurance practice by supporting audit activities that help clients navigate complex financial landscapes and maintain trust. What You’ll Actually Do
• Client Understanding: Comprehend clients’ needs, expectations, business, industry, accounting and control systems, employees, company values, and relevant GAAP and GAAS issues.
• Audit Approach Development: Acquire an understanding of the RSM audit approach and utilization of its associated tools.
• Risk and Control Assessment: Evaluate client risks and the effectiveness of their internal control structures.
• Issue Resolution: Conduct substantive tests and tests of internal controls to identify and resolve accounting or reporting issues.
• Financial Statement Drafting: Prepare financial statements following prescribed formats and guidelines.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Working towards a B.A. / B.S. degree or equivalent from an accredited university, with an Accounting Major.
• Experience: Completion of 90 credit hours toward a degree. Ability to travel to assigned client locations and arrange for reliable transportation to those locations.
• Skills: Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Capacity to work effectively as part of a team.
• Bonus: A minimum 3.0 GPA. Ability to work and multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
