Audit Associate – Macon, GA | Mauldin & Jenkins

What You’ll Actually Do
• Internal Controls: Assist with the study and evaluation of internal accounting controls.
• Financial Statements: Prepare financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
• Account Reconciliation: Examine client reconciliations of bank accounts and investigate discrepancies.
• Tax Preparation: Work on S-Corp, C-Corp, Partnership, Multi-State, Individual, trust and estate tax returns.
• Client Services: Interact and work closely with clients and client executives to provide tax planning, consulting, and compliance services.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor Degree. Entry-Level. Candidates must have obtained a college degree with a major or concentration in accounting, demonstrating a well-rounded knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and auditing standards.
• Experience: Working knowledge of Federal and state income tax laws and regulations sufficient for tax return preparation. Overnight travel and weekend work will be necessary.
• Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, proficiency in accuracy with numeric and alphabetic information, and the ability to flex to workload as deadlines approach.
• Bonus: Currently working towards completing the CPA exam.
