Assurance Intern – Winter 2028 (Ridgeland) | BDO USA
The Tone:
This is a temporary/seasonal internship at BDO USA, located in Ridgeland, MS. BDO is a firm that provides assurance, tax, and advisory services to clients globally, serving energetic self-starters who think like entrepreneurs. This role matters as it allows you to apply your educational background, gain a hands-on perspective of the firm’s practices, and begin forging critical relationships while supporting the firm’s dynamic client base. You will assist in problem-solving and fact-finding, working alongside experienced team members who offer direction and learning opportunities.

• Mission: To assist the Assurance practice in problem-solving and fact-finding for clients, supporting various stages of the audit process.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
What You’ll Actually Do
• Learn: Learn Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards through a structured on-the-job training program.
• Apply: Apply BDO specific audit methodology to assist with various stages of the audit process.
• Support: Provide various support functions to the audit staff during engagement activities.
• Communicate: Communicate with clients’ customers, creditors, banks, and related parties concerning audit issues.
• Document: Prepare and document work in working papers utilizing BDO specific tools and templates.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Enrolled in a Bachelors or Masters program in Accounting; Entry-Level.
• Experience: No experience required; leadership experience is preferred.
• Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; actively pursuing school credits to become a CPA.
• Bonus: Pursuing a masters degree in Accounting; strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to follow instructions as directed; ability to work effectively in a team setting; positive attitude and willingness to learn.
