Associate, Strategic Finance | Madison Energy Infrastructure
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Madison Energy Infrastructure, located in Tysons Corner, VA. The company is a preeminent developer, investor, and operator of distributed generation, providing clean energy infrastructure projects across more than 25 states. With a portfolio exceeding half a gigawatt, MEI helps organizations across various sectors meet their energy goals efficiently and reliably. This Associate position plays a central role in driving the company’s capital formation and overall growth strategy, directly contributing to capital raises and strategic acquisitions that fuel MEI’s rapidly expanding platform in clean energy.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Capital Raises: Support MEI’s capital raises, including preparation of investor materials, data room management, and coordination of diligence responses.
• M&A Management: Manage modeling and diligence workstreams across platform and operating portfolio M&A opportunities, from initial screening through close.
• Underwriting Refinement: Review project-level models and refine underwriting criteria to support capital allocation decisions.
• Executive Reporting: Prepare presentations and analysis for senior leadership, the board, and external stakeholders.
• Strategic Support: Support other strategic finance initiatives on an as-needed basis.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a closely related field. Candidates should possess a foundational understanding of finance disciplines critical to energy infrastructure development.
• Experience: Requires 2 to 5+ years of relevant professional experience. This experience should be specifically in project finance, investment banking, private equity, corporate development, or another related finance discipline, providing a strong basis for supporting capital markets transactions and M&A activities.
• Skills: Demonstrated advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modeling is essential for this role, along with strong skills in PowerPoint for presentations. Familiarity with data and Business Intelligence (BI) tools, such as Power BI, is also required for effective analysis and reporting.
• Bonus: The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and self-sufficient, capable of operating independently. They should be comfortable navigating ambiguity and effectively managing multiple workstreams simultaneously within a demanding business environment.
