Associate, Corporate Strategy | Focus Financial Partners
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Focus Financial Partners, located in New York, NY, Austin, TX, or San Francisco, CA. Focus is a leading financial services firm providing integrated wealth management, family office, and business management services to individuals, families, and institutions. This Associate position is a critical member of the core strategy team, overseeing corporate development and M&A activities, and playing a key role in driving deal execution from start to finish. Successful Associates will be trained in a responsible environment and given immediate responsibilities, with opportunities for advancement.

• Mission: Drive M&A deals to completion by participating in every step of the deal process from proposal to close.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Execute M&A deal processes: Participate in every step of the M&A deal process from proposal to close.
• Evaluate prospective deals: Review Confidential Information Memorandums and coordinate NDAs and management meetings with investment bankers.
• Conduct financial analysis: Perform financial due diligence and P&L scoping for both internal and external firms.
• Structure deal terms: Structure and model deal terms, then prepare and present Investment Committee memorandums and term sheets.
• Coordinate stakeholders: Act as the central point for coordination across Focus’ Corporate and business line teams, gaining cross-functional exposure.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree from a top university or college with core domain knowledge in finance or strategic consulting.
• Experience: 2-3 years of full-time work experience in investment banking, private equity, or strategic consulting.
• Skills: Competency in financial statement analysis, strong analytical skills, and excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Skills: Strong organizational skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to present and discuss findings to various stakeholders.
