Data Center Site Acquisition Specialist Graduate (Data Center Development) – 2027 Start | ByteDance
The Tone:
This is an early career role supporting ByteDance’s global data center development efforts, with compensation based on a selected US city. ByteDance’s infrastructure team builds hyper-scale data centers worldwide to manage massive content on platforms like TikTok, Lemon8, and CapCut. This role is crucial for learning the end-to-end site acquisition process, contributing to the expansion of ByteDance’s global infrastructure footprint to host hundreds of thousands of servers.

• Mission: Supports capacity planning and site acquisition efforts in assigned metros/regions for global data center expansion.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Capacity Planning & Strategy: Collaborate with stakeholders to understand capacity needs and site requirements, supporting market research to inform site acquisition strategy.
• Site Acquisition & Procurement: Support the site acquisition and procurement process, including engaging suppliers, evaluating proposals, and conducting due diligence tasks.
• Lease Portfolio Management: Assist in managing the existing lease portfolio by tracking key terms, deadlines, and identifying renewal opportunities.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Coordinate with Legal, Finance, Engineering, and Compliance teams to prepare materials for contract negotiations and ensure deal progression.
• Financial Analysis & Reporting: Help prepare deal summaries, lease abstracts, and cost analyses for review by senior team members and decision-makers.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Completing or recently completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or a relevant field.
• Experience: Early career role with a genuine interest in infrastructure, real estate, or data center markets.
• Skills: Strong organizational and project coordination skills, analytical abilities, and effective communication for engaging with cross-functional partners.
• Bonus: Internship, co-op, or academic project experience in real estate, supply chain, procurement, construction, or facility management; exposure to financial analysis or lease/contract concepts; familiarity with data center, telecom, or infrastructure industries.
