As an Assistant Squash Coach, you will be instrumental in fostering a supportive and developmental environment for all squash participants, ensuring they have an exceptional and successful athletic experience. Your efforts will be central to the strategic development and implementation of comprehensive lesson plans, directly contributing to significant player development. This position is vital for achieving the specific program goals of the squash initiative and enhancing the overall quality of recreational sports offerings.

The TL;DR

• Location: Lake Forest, IL (In-person)
• Team: Squash Program Team + reports to Squash Pro
• Mission: To deliver an exceptional athletic experience and foster significant player development within the squash program through effective coaching and program implementation.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Instruction: Deliver personalized and group instruction, offering detailed feedback to players to help them refine proper technique, significantly improve physical fitness relevant to squash, and deepen their strategic understanding of the game.
• Coaching: Lead engaging sessions to teach both fundamental and advanced squash techniques, including precise shot selection, efficient footwork, optimal court positioning, and sophisticated game tactics in various settings.
• Team Culture: Actively foster a supportive and positive team culture that encourages teamwork, exemplary sportsmanship, and unwavering dedication, while offering essential emotional support and motivation to empower players.
• Safety Oversight: Prioritize and ensure the utmost safety of all players during every practice session and match, strictly enforcing proper safety protocols and ensuring compliance with all relevant rules and regulations.
• Program Improvement: Proactively identify specific areas for improvement within the squash program section, developing and proposing innovative strategies and actionable plans to enhance its overall quality and positive impact.

• Background: A foundational understanding of squash coaching principles and player development, demonstrated through a strong commitment to continuous professional growth within the sport of squash.
• Experience: Proven commitment to continuous professional development in squash coaching, including active participation in clinics, workshops, and conferences, along with practical ability to reliably manage transportation to all scheduled program functions.
