Assistant Operations Manager | Metropolis Technologies

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Metropolis Technologies, located in Van Nuys, CA. This position is vital for supporting the seamless daily management of parking operations, fostering positive client relationships, and maintaining a professional image as the company works to reinvent parking and expand checkout-free experiences that impact everyone and give back valuable time.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Operational Management: Assist in the day-to-day management of assigned parking operations, ensuring all activities are handled within contractual guidelines and promote a professional approach to the business.
• Staff Supervision & Development: Schedule, supervise, hire, and train frontline staff such as cashiers, valet attendants, and maintenance porters, including monitoring and checking time cards.
• Financial Administration: Oversee the completion of evening closing reports, process bank deposits, prepare month-end reports, audit daily cashier shift reports, disburse petty cash, and contribute to the preparation of the annual budget.
• Customer & Client Relations: Courteously assist customers by answering questions, respond to service requests, and actively participate in programs aimed at improving both client and customer satisfaction.
• Facility Upkeep & Safety: Assist with the maintenance and repair of parking equipment, perform general maintenance tasks including cleanup, and report any accidents, policy violations, or safety hazards to the Facility Manager.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. High School Graduate.
• Experience: Minimum of six months of parking experience preferred. Must possess a valid state-issued driver’s license with current address and an acceptable driving record.
• Skills: Strong oral communication to speak clearly and respond well to questions; proficient written communication for clear reporting; strong customer orientation and positive attitude; adaptability to changes and unexpected events; sound judgment; and thorough knowledge of garage areas, local streets, landmarks, and freeways.
• Bonus: Availability to work 2nd shift, 3rd shift, and/or weekends may be required based on location needs.
