Analyst, Cost | Universal Orlando Resort

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Universal Orlando Resort, located in Orlando, FL. Universal Orlando Resort is a world-renowned entertainment destination, recognized for its diverse theme parks, hotels, and entertainment complexes. This organization operates with numerous divisions and critical business units, including its Guest Contact Center and Universal Parks & Resorts Vacations (UPRV), which the Analyst, Cost will directly support. This position is vital for assisting with comprehensive financial analysis and providing actionable recommendations to support these diverse business units. The Analyst, Cost ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial systems, facilitates the timely processing of critical payments, and produces essential financial reports, directly contributing to the resort’s operational efficiency and overall financial health.

What You’ll Actually Do
• System Management: Maintain the accuracy of the UPRV Financial System, processing all necessary adjustments, performing essential month-end close duties, and generating comprehensive monthly financial reports.
• Payment Processing: Complete routine financial reports accurately to facilitate the efficient processing and payment of Travel Agency Commissions and various Airline vendor invoices.
• Issue Resolution: Conduct thorough research into vendor payment issues, developing and presenting recommendations for their effective resolution, and efficiently fulfilling miscellaneous billing requests.
• Financial Closing: Execute critical month-end close duties, which include detailed report review and the accurate input of journal entries within the SAP system.
• Project Support: Provide dedicated assistance with applicable ad-hoc financial projects and various requests from business units as they arise.

The Must-Haves
• Background: An Associate degree (AA) is a required minimum educational qualification, providing the foundational knowledge necessary for an early career finance role focused on cost analysis.
• Experience: A minimum of 1 year of experience in a Finance-related field, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and professional experience is required to effectively perform the duties of this position.
• Skills: Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, strong ability to communicate clearly and effectively, excellent organization skills, proven capability to consistently meet deadlines, foundational knowledge in basic forecasting and budgeting principles, keen analytical thinking abilities, skills in planning and scheduling tasks, and experience with accounting research.
• Bonus: A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is highly preferred, further enhancing the candidate’s qualifications and potential for success in this role.
