Assistant Operations Manager | Metropolis Technologies

This is an in-person role at Metropolis Technologies, located in Washington, DC. The TL;DR
• Role: Full Time
• Location: In-person, Washington, DC
• Team: Reports to a Facility Manager and supervises frontline staff including cashiers, valet attendants, and maintenance porters.
• Mission: To support efficient, contract-compliant parking operations, foster positive client and customer satisfaction, and promote a professional business approach at the assigned location.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Client & Customer Engagement: Participate in programs designed to improve satisfaction for both clients and customers, courteously assisting customers with any questions they may have.
• Operational Oversight: Assist in the day-to-day management of the assigned location, including ensuring appropriate customer interaction, processing bank deposits, and supervising the completion of all evening closing reports.
• Financial & Administrative Tasks: Engage in the development of property-level financial and operational goals, prepare accurate month-end reports, audit daily cashier shift reports, and disburse petty cash.
• Team Leadership & Development: Schedule, hire, and train frontline staff, supervise their daily activities, monitor and check time cards, and review damage claims.
• Facility & Equipment Care: Assist in the maintenance and repair of parking equipment, perform general maintenance tasks as directed, and report any known accidents, safety hazards, or unusual occurrences.
The Must-Haves
• Background: High School Graduate with a focus on operations support within a service-oriented environment.
• Experience: A minimum of six months of parking operations experience is preferred. Must possess a valid state-issued driver’s license with a current address and an acceptable driving record.
• Skills: Clear oral and written communication, strong customer service orientation, adaptability to changes in the work environment, and sound judgment in decision-making.
• Bonus: Availability to work 2nd shift, 3rd shift, and/or weekends may be required depending on the location’s hiring needs.
