Accounts Payable Analyst | Function Health

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Function Health, with a remote-first approach within the United States. Function Health is an AI operating system for health, dedicated to helping people live 100 healthy years by providing proactive, data-driven insights into human biology. This role is critical in owning the accuracy, integrity, and scalability of procure-to-pay operations, ensuring expenses are recorded precisely and supported with strong documentation, which directly impacts the company’s ability to scale effectively.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Invoice Processing: Own end-to-end invoice processing, including 3-way PO matching, approval routing, and payment execution via various methods.
• Expense Management: Review and approve employee expense reimbursements and accurately code and reconcile corporate credit card transactions.
• Vendor Management: Manage vendor onboarding, issue annual 1099 reporting, and serve as the main point of contact for vendor inquiries.
• Month-End Support: Support month-end close with cash application, expense accruals, other journal entries, and general ledger activity.
• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce manual work, and strengthen internal controls within AP and broader accounting workflows.

The Must-Haves
• Background: An experienced professional with 3–5 years in accounts payable or general accounting.
• Experience: Proven experience coding invoices and expenses across departments and GL accounts, along with preparing accruals and reconciliations for month-end close.
• Skills: Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs), and a strong problem-solving mindset.
• Bonus: A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, exposure to multi-entity or international operations, experience supporting accounting automation tool implementations, or familiarity with healthcare/health-tech industry accounting requirements.
