About the Job: Analytics/AI Intern

We are seeking an Analytics/AI Intern to join our team at the St. Louis headquarters. This full-time role offers an exciting opportunity to apply data analytics, machine learning, and AI tools to drive business insights and optimization for cross-functional initiatives.

Reporting Structure

This position reports directly to the Sr. Manager, Analytics & Automation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support data preparation and analysis for ongoing projects.
  • Assist in building dashboards and reports using Power BI or similar tools.
  • Contribute to machine learning model development for advanced analytics.
  • Explore AI techniques (e.g., NLP, computer vision, generative AI) for automation and innovation.
  • Build models or prototypes using AI/ML technologies to deliver insights.
  • Document workflows, findings, and recommendations for internal stakeholders.

This is a full-time internship located at our corporate headquarters in St. Louis, MO. Peabody values work-life balance and offers a flexible work environment, including:

  • Hybrid office/home working arrangements.
  • Opportunity to finish at noon on Fridays.
  • Pay Range: $20 – $27/hour.

About You (Required Qualifications)

We are looking for candidates who possess the following qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Skilled in Python, with experience in libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, and PyTorch.
  • Exposure to data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Excel.
  • Strong understanding of SQL and relational database concepts.
  • Solid foundation in machine learning algorithms and statistical concepts.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Physical Requirements

The role may involve typical office-related tasks, including:

  • Ability to perform office-related tasks which may include prolonged sitting or standing.
  • Ability to move from place to place within an office environment.
  • Some positions may require occasional repetitive motion or movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
