Associate, Structured Finance | Bloom Energy

The Tone:
This is a full-time, fully on-site role at Bloom Energy, located in San Jose, CA. Bloom Energy pioneers solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) and solid oxide electrolyzer (SOEC) technologies, delivering clean, reliable, and affordable energy solutions worldwide. This role is crucial for enabling Bloom’s growth by supporting complex financial structuring and deal closure, driving the global energy transition forward.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Deal Support: Provide intellectual athlete capacity by delivering financial analysis, research, and analytics to support Bloom’s consultative selling engagements.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with financiers, internal teams, and customers to facilitate the progression and closure of deals.
• Financial Consulting: Advise the sales team and customers on the financial structuring of power purchase agreements (PPAs) and project financing to meet customer needs.
• Collateral Development: Create compelling collateral for internal and external audiences that effectively communicates Bloom’s story and its impact on the energy industry.
• Creative Structuring: Develop innovative approaches to satisfy customer financial and contracting constraints within the parameters of a financeable deal structure.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Student currently pursuing an MBA or Master’s degree in Finance, Engineering, or a related discipline, graduating between December 2024 and August 2026.
• Experience: Desire for 2-5 years’ experience in project finance, project development, energy & infrastructure-focused investment banking, or strategy, with demonstrated success in closing complex deals.
• Skills: Strong communication skills to articulate complex deal terms and financial information to diverse audiences, ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines under heavy workload, and high attention to detail.
• Bonus: Experience at top-tier investment banks, private equity firms, or consulting firms, a background of exceptional academic performance, and a creative problem-solving approach.
