Job Description: Aerospace Systems Engineer
Blue Origin is hiring for multiple Aerospace Systems Engineer positions across various business units. The successful candidate will be placed on a team based on their skills and experience, and current business needs. The company offers specialized early-career development, mentorship, relocation assistance, and the opportunity to contribute directly to significant company goals.
Responsibilities: Depending on career path, projects may involve many aspects of applied systems engineering including:
• System definition
• Systems test
• System integration
• System safety
• Operations and system verification of fluid, mechanical, propulsion, and electrical systems
• Decomposing internal customer requirements into test system requirements specifications (including bi-directional traceability)
• Developing and managing interfaces through requirements and Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and drawings
• Leading and presenting at major gated reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR) on system overall technical readiness and status of Systems Engineering deliverables
• Owning the verification and validation planning, traceability, and completion through test plan creation and completion of Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs)
Qualifications:
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
• Minimum of a B.S. degree in engineering or another technical field, earned within the last year and able to start by Fall 2025.
• Experience with Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, or Systems Engineering on complex systems.
• Ability to break down complex problems into traceable tasks and communicate project status concisely.
• Relevant internship/co-op and/or hands-on experience demonstrating development of both technical skills and leadership qualities.
• Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and strengthen the company’s culture of inclusion.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team on rapid development programs.
• Flexible and adaptable mindset.
• Self-driven with the ability to seek out requirements with minimal direction.
Desired Qualifications:
• M.S. in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical subject area.
• Experience with requirements development/management tools such as Jama.
• Experience with systems engineering modeling tools, such as Rhapsody or Cameo.
• Previous customer-facing roles with experience presenting to and directly interacting with customers.
