Aerospace Systems & Defense Intern/Co-op | GE Aerospace
The Tone:
This is an internship/co-op at GE Aerospace, located primarily in Grand Rapids, MI, and Clearwater, FL. GE Aerospace is a world-leading provider of jet engines, components, and integrated systems for commercial and military aircraft. In this role, you will contribute to inventing the future of flight, ensuring safety, and enhancing sustainability in aviation. You will help design and support aerospace systems throughout their service life, building essential professional and technical skills.
The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Location: Grand Rapids, MI; Clearwater, FL (In-person)
• Pay: $20 hourly
• Mission: Design aerospace systems for commercial and military applications and support them through their service life.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft products, at least one programming language
What You’ll Actually Do
• Design: Design aerospace systems for commercial and military aircraft applications.
• Analysis: Conduct analysis to support the development and service life of aerospace systems.
• Development: Develop engine controls, electrical power systems, mechanical systems, or mission systems.
• Testing: Perform testing for various aerospace systems, including software testing.
• Software: Write software requirements and develop simulation tools for aerospace applications.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Early Career professional pursuing a full-time matriculated baccalaureate or graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aeronautical/Aerospace Engineering from a nationally accredited program.
• Experience: Prior GE Aerospace intern experience is required for this role.
• Skills: Possess US Citizenship, maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA, and have the ability to work in Grand Rapids, MI or Clearwater, FL with reliable transportation. Demonstrate strong knowledge of computer and Microsoft products, along with proficiency in at least one programming language.
