Job Description
As an Aerospace Engineering Intern at Bombardier, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Project Engineering & Integration team and various engineering functions. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the dynamic world of aerospace project management and engineering.
In your role, you will:
- Work in close collaboration and assist the Project Engineering & Integration team and various engineering functions, providing critical support to ongoing projects.
- Support the interpretation and evaluation of technical requests and work packages, ensuring clear understanding and proper execution.
- Dispatch and track progress against schedule and budget constraints, contributing to efficient project delivery.
- Support meetings and discussions between engineering and PMO (Project Management Office) stakeholders, facilitating effective communication and decision-making.
- Support the timely collection of data and reporting towards project governance, involving effectively communicating project status to management and highlighting risks/issues as required to ensure transparency and proactive problem-solving.
- Support submission of deliverables as required by the project and ensure budget is respected, contributing to project success within financial parameters.
- Support supplier management activities, learning about external stakeholder coordination in a complex industry.
- Implement new tools and document processes in line with the team’s continuous improvement initiatives, fostering efficiency and innovation.
Qualifications
As our ideal candidate, you will possess a strong academic background and a keen interest in aerospace engineering and project management:
- You are currently completing a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, with a strong preference given to those studying Aerospace or Mechanical engineering.
- You have completed at least 2 years of study, demonstrating a solid foundation in engineering principles, with a particular interest for Aerospace being highly preferred.
- You have a genuine interest in the Project Management aspect of Engineering, indicating a desire to understand the organizational and strategic elements of engineering projects.
- You are fluent in English (oral and written) with demonstrated communication and leadership skills, essential for effective collaboration and reporting.
- You are proficient with the Microsoft Office suite, ensuring you can manage documents, presentations, and data efficiently. Previous experience in Microsoft Projects is considered a strong asset, highlighting your readiness to contribute to project planning and tracking.
- You have good analytical and synthesis skills, enabling you to interpret complex information and formulate clear insights.
- You are resourceful, proactive, dynamic, and curious, demonstrating an eagerness to learn, take initiative, and adapt to new challenges.
- You are eligible to view and handle ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) material, which is a critical requirement for working with sensitive aerospace technology.
