• Mission: This person will manage and maintain critical Distributed Messaging Infrastructures, ensuring their deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting, and automation.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Troubleshooting: Lead troubleshooting calls and drive to root cause resolution, providing recommendations for long-term problem solutions across the enterprise.
• Initiative Leadership: Lead complex initiatives and address issues within the Messaging Infrastructure technical area and across functional areas.
• Collaboration: Work closely with application development and other IT teams to establish best practices, tune systems, resolve problems, and conduct root cause analysis.
• Infrastructure Management: Deploy, upgrade, and manage infrastructures for MQ, ACE, and Kafka environments.
• Technical Consulting: Provide technical consulting on the use and integration of Messaging infrastructures and Middleware system utilities, tools, and applications.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Senior-level professional with extensive experience in IBM MQ administration and architecture. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience is preferred.
• Experience: 10+ years of IBM MQ administration and architecture, including deployment, upgrades, configurations, setup, and performance tuning. Experience required with IBM MQ appliances, MQ on Linux, AIX & Windows, IBM MQIPT configuration and security, multiple MQ topologies (clustering, multi-instance, HA, RDQM/HA), all MQ messaging models (pub/sub), MQ monitoring tools (ITCAM, Nastel), and large-scale MQ environments. This role requires 24×7 Production support.
• Skills: Strong MQ troubleshooting, Shell/Perl/Python scripting for automation, hands-on experience with DevOps technologies like Ansible and RunDeck, strong understanding of Linux, Windows, and AIX operating systems, experience with security requirements using SSL/TLS, and understanding of network topologies and common network protocols (DNS, HTTP(S), SSH, FTP, SMTP).
• Bonus: Experience with OpenShift and Kubernetes, familiarity with using a ticketing system to document and track work status, and strong communication and collaborative skills.
