What You’ll Actually Do
• Direct Programs: Direct and supervise all aspects of middle school athletic activities, ensuring their alignment with district educational goals and policies.
• Ensure Compliance: Ensure comprehensive compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, including Title IX, governing middle school athletic programs and student participation.
• Develop Policies: Develop, implement, and refine policies and procedures for middle school athletics, promoting fair play, student well-being, and sportsmanship.
• Manage Resources: Oversee the effective management of budgets, personnel, facilities, and other resources allocated to middle school athletic programs.
• Provide Leadership: Provide leadership and guidance to school administrators, coaches, and staff on best practices in athletic administration and compliance, fostering a supportive environment.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Candidates must possess a Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in an education-related field. This Director I level position necessitates a proven track record of leadership within an educational context, overseeing significant programs or departments.
• Experience: A minimum of five (5) years of licensed administrative or supervisory experience in an educational setting is required. This experience should clearly demonstrate the ability to effectively manage complex programs, lead diverse teams, and navigate educational policies.
• Skills: Essential skills encompass a comprehensive understanding of athletic program administration, including scheduling, safety, and student eligibility. Deep knowledge of Title IX regulations and their practical application in athletic environments is critical, alongside strong capabilities in policy development, implementation, and enforcement. Proficiency in budget planning, resource allocation, and personnel management is also required, complemented by effective communication and problem-solving abilities.
