Actuarial Internship Opportunity | AXIS Insurance Company

The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Type: Summer Term: Full-time (40 hours); Spring and Fall Terms: Part-time (minimum 16 hours). This is a one-year internship from June 2026 to May 2027.
• Location: New York, NY (Hybrid)
• Pay: $21 hourly
• Mission: Successfully complete projects that assist AXIS in performing Actuarial functions.
• Tech Stack: Excel, Access, SQL, databases

What You’ll Actually Do
• Analyze underwriting and claim trends to assist with profitability analysis.
• Support rater functions and contribute to rate filings.
• Manipulate and report on actuarial data for various functions.
• Assist in developing and maintaining rating plans used by business units.
• Contribute to the monthly price monitoring process and special projects.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Current student in good standing, with at least one year remaining towards an Undergraduate or Graduate degree in Math, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, Business, Risk Management, or a similar quantitative field.
• Experience: Must be local in the New York/New Jersey area. Proficient in Microsoft product suite, particularly Excel.
• Skills: Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, strong written and verbal communication, strong interpersonal skills, and ability to work on a team.
• Bonus: Experience with Visual Basic, knowledge of Access, SQL, and/or databases, successful completion of actuarial exams.
