Associate, Accounts Payable | Newmark

The Tone:

What You’ll Actually Do
• Process Payments: Generate accounts payable checks, enter and record requested void payments, and process requested manual payments efficiently.
• Ensure Compliance: Uphold compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and company-established accounting policies and procedures.
• Manage Invoicing: Perform accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices, including posting into the computer system and diligently researching and resolving any discrepancies.
• Maintain Records: Keep accurate and orderly accounting files, ensure account accuracy by reconciling transactions, and investigate and resolve any discrepancies while maintaining confidentiality.
• Provide Support: Interact with various departments to address issues, prepare FedEx labels for expedited payments, and assist with other assigned projects as needed.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience: Minimum of 1-3 years of prior experience in an accounting function.
• Skills: Familiarity with standard PC applications including MS-Excel and MS-Word.
• Bonus: Experience with computerized accounting systems is considered a plus.
