This is a part-time internship at Dempsey Uniform & Linen Supply, an established company providing essential uniform and linen supply services. This role offers a unique and valuable opportunity for current students or early-career professionals to gain significant, hands-on experience in the critical accounting functions that underpin business operations. As a Business Accounting Intern, you will directly support our Finance team, contributing to the precision and compliance of our reporting, accounts payable, and purchasing processes. What You’ll Actually Do
• Process Financial Documents: Assist in meticulously processing incoming invoices, vouchers, receipts, and requisitions to ensure complete accuracy and compliance with internal guidelines.
• Support Accounts Payable: Actively support the Accounts Payable function by managing vendor communications and efficiently resolving any discrepancies that arise.
• Track Purchasing Records: Aid in organizing and diligently tracking all necessary paperwork and documentation related to purchasing activities.
• Generate Financial Reports: Prepare and conduct initial reviews of basic financial reports concerning transactions, funding allocations, and account reconciliations.
• Maintain General Ledger: Precisely enter and meticulously verify journal entries within the company’s general ledger system.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently enrolled student or a recent graduate with an academic focus in Accounting, seeking practical application of their studies.
• Experience: Demonstrated comfort and proficiency in performing data entry tasks, coupled with a strong and consistent attention to detail in all numerical and administrative work.
• Skills: Possesses strong organizational skills to manage diverse tasks, is comfortable and capable with Microsoft Office applications, and demonstrates the ability to work both independently and manage multiple priorities effectively within a business setting.
• Bonus: Proven proficiency in Microsoft Excel is considered a significant advantage, alongside a genuine interest in understanding and actively learning core accounting processes within a practical business operational context.
