Accounting Intern – Shared Services | Herc Rentals

The intern will participate in various projects related to the accounting close and reporting cycle.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Accounting Cycle Learning: Learn about the company’s accounting cycle, including balance sheet account reconciliations, journal entries, internal controls, and financial analysis.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare internal reports by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system and other systems.
• General Ledger Management: Prepare general ledger entries by maintaining records and reconciling accounts.
• Financial Inquiry Resolution: Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
• Compliance Adherence: Understand and maintain Sarbanes Oxley internal control compliance and financial reporting requirements.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Accounting or Finance with an Accounting focus, currently enrolled at a university. This is an Entry-Level position.
• Experience: Completed a minimum of 9 credit hours in Accounting major coursework or similar.
• Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
