The Tone:
This is a 13-week rotational program at Bank of America, located in New York City. Bank of America is one of the world’s leading financial institutions. This program offers recently transitioned Veterans the opportunity to explore new career paths in financial services, work on significant problems, and contribute to developing solutions across Global Banking & Global Markets.

The TL;DR

What You’ll Actually Do
• Manage Client Engagements: Coordinate activities of team members and clients with minimal supervision, taking on new responsibilities while adhering to the highest professional standards and strict client confidentiality.
• Build Relationships: Facilitate the flow of information across a wide array of products and businesses within the bank to enhance collaboration.
• Conduct Research & Analysis: Perform industry and product research, maintain databases, write reports, and prepare essential materials like pitch books, live deal documents, and economic/market updates.
• Develop Financial Solutions: Analyze detailed corporate and financial information, conduct due diligence, and execute complex financial modeling and valuation work including discounted cash flow, pro forma merger, precedent transaction, and comparable company analysis.
• Generate Business Ideas: Pitch new business opportunities, generate innovative ideas, and actively seek out new, value-added, or unusual sources of information for strategic advantage.

The Must-Haves
• Background: BS/BA degree with outstanding academic qualifications. Candidates must have completed active military commitment within the past five years or be currently serving in the Military Reserves or National Guard, and be a commissioned officer or strong enlisted member.
• Experience: Completion of active military commitment within the past five years or current service in the Military Reserves or National Guard. Strong interest in global financial markets is required.
• Skills: Strong quantitative and analytical skills, organizational skills, attention to detail, distinguished verbal and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (especially Excel and PowerPoint).
• Bonus: Degree concentrations in Finance, Economics, Applied Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, or finance-related fields. Understanding of accounting, financial modeling, corporate finance, and working knowledge of financial statements. Experience with market data sources, programming languages (Java, C, C++, Scala, Perl, R, Slang), statistics, machine learning, databases (NoSQL, column stores), and data visualization is a plus.
