Summer 2027 Accounting & Finance Intern | ONE Gas

The Tone:
This is a hybrid internship at ONE Gas, located in Tulsa, OK. ONE Gas is a premier natural gas distribution company headquartered in Tulsa, Oklahoma, providing essential natural gas distribution services to approximately 2.3 million customers across Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas. This role offers motivated and high-performing students a meaningful, hands-on experience within the Accounting & Finance team, designed for professional growth and development. Interns will gain exposure to real-world accounting functions, financial analysis, and corporate operations, contributing to the company’s mission through impactful projects.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Month-end Close: Assist with month-end close activities including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Financial Analysis: Support financial analysis through data interpretation and spreadsheet modeling.
• Report Preparation: Contribute to the preparation and review of variance analyses, regulatory and governmental reports, financial statements, and reconciliation and financial metrics reports.
• Software Application: Learn and apply accounting software and tools used in corporate accounting and finance.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Minimum qualification: Pursuing a degree in Accounting or Finance. Career level: Entry-Level. Candidates are preferably graduating in December 2027 or May 2028.
• Experience: Prior internships, part-time jobs, or volunteer work experience.
• Skills: Maintaining a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Ability to interpret data and model spreadsheets for financial analysis. Capability to learn and apply accounting software and tools used in corporate environments.
• Bonus: Enrolled at the University of Oklahoma, University of Tulsa, Oklahoma State University, Northeastern State University, or Langston University (other institutions may be considered). Involvement in extracurricular activities, community service, or leadership roles.
