This is an immediate paid internship opportunity at Shared Apartment Services, specifically with Mac Properties. The internship is scheduled to be effective from August 2025 to April 2026.
The program aims to offer students hands-on accounting experience within a multi-family residential property management company. Upon completion of the internship, each intern is expected to have a solid understanding of the fundamentals of accounting in this specific industry.
Essential Functions (Key Responsibilities):
• Preparing bank reconciliations.
• Preparing replacement reserve requests for reimbursement.
• Rolling forward balance sheet support files.
• Preparing journal entries for cash received and allocations.
• Completing bank transfers.
• Reviewing tenant ledger charges, reconciling cash receipts, and posting adjustments as needed.
• Performing other related duties and assignments as required.
Qualifications:
• Education: Must be currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of a 4-year accredited program. A concentration in accounting or finance is preferred. If still enrolled, candidates must be a Junior or Senior in standing.
• Technical Skills: Knowledge of personal computers and internet applications is required. Previous experience using Salesforce or other CRM platforms is a plus, but not mandatory.
• Soft Skills: Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills are essential. Superior attention to detail, strong organizational abilities, and follow-up skills are also required.
• Work Ethic: The ability to work independently is necessary.
Hiring Requirements:
All new hires are required to successfully complete a criminal background investigation prior to employment.
