Accounting Co-op – Spring 2027 | Avery Dennison

The Tone:
This is an Accounting Co-op position at Avery Dennison, located in Mentor, Ohio. The TL;DR
• Role: Internship / Co-op
• Type: Part-time (10-15 hrs/week, Spring 2027), potential for full-time (Summer 2027)
• Location: In-person, Mentor, OH
• Pay: $22–$27 hourly
• Team: North America Accounting Team
• Mission: Provide accounting support for North America operations, assisting with the close process and various analyses to ensure reporting deadlines are met, while also contributing to efficiency initiatives.
• Tech Stack: Excel, Google Sheets

What You’ll Actually Do
• Close Process: Participate in the monthly close process, managing journal entries, account reconciliations, and any analysis associated with those activities.
• Financial Analysis: Support business unit and accounting managers/analysts on various financial analyses.
• Efficiency Projects: Complete projects directly linked to the Accounting Team’s continuous efforts to standardize and streamline processes.
• Operational Support: Provide accounting support for North America operations by collaboratively working with the Accounting Team and other functions.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Pursuing a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field.
• Experience: Must be willing to join during at least two semesters, including one non-summer term. Must have reliable transportation to and from work. Ability to travel 10-20 percent of the time.
• Skills: Foundational understanding of accounting principles for journal entries and reconciliations. Analytical skills for supporting business unit and accounting analyses. Collaboration skills for working effectively with the Accounting Team and other functions.
• Bonus: Previous internship/co-op experience or relevant work experience. Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills, including experience in building financial models. Experience via student organizations such as Beta Alpha Psi, Association of Latino Professionals of America, Multicultural Business Association, Accounting Association, or American Accounting Association.
