The Tone:
This is a full-time Accounting Specialist position at DO & CO AG, located in Romulus, MI. This role is crucial for a motivated, detail-oriented, and Excel-proficient individual to make an impact by ensuring the accuracy and integrity of daily financial transactions and supporting essential accounting functions, helping the company maintain its high standards of quality.

• Mission: Manage daily financial transactions and support critical accounting functions to ensure accurate financial records.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Records Management: Record daily business transactions and key them onto the general ledger.
• Financial Processing: Process and verify various financial documents including invoices, checks, account statements, and reports.
• System Entry & Review: Enter, review, and confirm all daily entries within the billing systems.
• Reporting & Filing: Maintain structured filing systems and prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
• General Ledger Operations: Post monthly depreciation and input journal entries into the general ledger system.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or actively pursuing one. This is an entry-level role.
• Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of accounting experience, with demonstrated knowledge of posting/reclassing journal entries and fixed asset depreciation.
• Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, and strong knowledge of accounting systems, technologies, and financial reporting. Possess advanced mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, along with effective written and verbal communication. Candidates must be highly organized, detail-oriented, diligent in follow-through, skilled in building relationships, handling sensitive issues with tact and diplomacy, and demonstrate the ability to manage multiple projects under time and resource constraints.
• Bonus: Previous experience within the hospitality, catering, or food service industry.
