Complex Accounting Clerk | Shaner Hotels
The Tone:
This is an in-person role at the Faro Blanco Curio by Hilton and Courtyard by Marriott Marathon, nestled in the stunning waterfront setting of Marathon, FL. Shaner Hotels is a leading award-winning hospitality owner-operator and management company, overseeing a portfolio of over 70 properties including full-service, select-service, extended-stay, and resort properties across multiple states and countries. The company partners with recognized hospitality brands to deliver exceptional guest experiences and operational excellence, offering comprehensive services including accounting support. This position is integral to the financial department at Faro Blanco Resort & Yacht Club, a premier waterfront destination known for its iconic lighthouse, 125 accommodations, full-service marina, and exceptional dining experiences. The role supports the resort’s financial health by ensuring the accuracy and proper maintenance of all accounting documents and records, contributing to the seamless operation of a unique environment dedicated to authentic island hospitality and unforgettable guest experiences.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Record Management: Prepare and maintain comprehensive accounting documents and records, including bank deposits, general ledger postings, and financial statements.
• Account Reconciliation & Reporting: Reconcile various accounts monthly, including vendor statements, and generate all necessary month-end and accounts payable reports.
• Transaction Verification: Verify the accuracy of invoices, taxation, and accounts payable aging, along with processing and verifying credit card charges for upcoming group bookings.
• Guest Billing Support: Assist resort guests with all billing-related inquiries and provide necessary documentation as requested.
• Discrepancy Resolution: Research, track, and restore accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies promptly to ensure financial accuracy.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. High school graduate with some college education, preferably focused on accounting principles.
• Experience: Demonstrated proficiency in relevant computer software and familiarity with property management systems.
• Skills: Ability to communicate effectively and satisfactorily with guests, management, and co-workers; strong problem analysis and problem-solving capabilities; and aptitude for performing mathematical calculations accurately.
• Bonus: A solid understanding of all accounting principles and procedures is highly valued.
