Accounting Clerk | Crysteel Manufacturing
The Tone:
This is a full-time Accounting Clerk role based at Crysteel Manufacturing’s TBEI corporate office in Homewood, Alabama. Crysteel Manufacturing is part of Truck Bodies & Equipment International (TBEI), a subsidiary of Federal Signal Corporation. TBEI is a leader in its industry, encompassing thirteen major brands of specialized truck bodies, trailers, and equipment designed to move material and support various infrastructure needs. This position is vital for maintaining the integrity of financial records across multiple company locations, directly contributing to day-to-day accounting operations and critical month-end and year-end closing processes. It represents an excellent opportunity for a motivated accounting professional to gain significant experience and grow within a complex, multi-location corporate environment.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Prepare: Assist in the multi-location month-end accounting close process, including generating journal entries, performing allocations, creating basic financial reports, and supporting account reconciliations.
• Support: Manage accounts receivable functions such as applying cash, conducting customer reference checks, executing annual credit reviews, and setting up new customers for specific business units.
• Provide: Contribute to the accounts payable process by maintaining vendor master data for various business unit sites.
• Perform: Execute all other tasks and duties as assigned by management.
• Support: Aid in the comprehensive month-end and year-end financial closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
The Must-Haves
• Background: An Associate degree in Accounting or a related field is required, providing a solid theoretical and practical foundation in corporate accounting principles.
• Experience: A minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience in an accounting role, demonstrating practical application of financial processes and records management.
• Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications with a strong emphasis on advanced Excel functions, alongside a basic understanding of file folder/file sharing systems for organized data management. The ability to conduct research, solve problems effectively, work independently, consistently meet deadlines, and communicate clearly via email, phone, and in-person are also essential.
• Bonus: A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is highly preferred, as is prior experience working with larger, integrated accounting systems to handle complex financial data.
