What You’ll Actually Do
• Accounts Management: Process accounts receivable, including invoicing, payment posting, monitoring, and collection efforts, and manage accounts payable tasks such as vendor onboarding, invoice approval, and payment processing.
• General Ledger Maintenance: Post payroll reports, allocate payroll expenses by class, and maintain general ledger records for revenue, expenditures, and paid media spend.
• Month-End Support: Assist in month-end close activities, performing bank and credit card reconciliations and preparing journal entries.
• Financial Reporting & Compliance: Prepare financial information necessary for internal reporting and external tax filings, conduct transaction research, and reconcile paid media balances.
• Process Improvement & Budgeting: Collaborate with the Finance Director on annual budget creation and tracking, identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, and update fiscal policies and procedures.
The Must-Haves
• Background: A Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a relevant field is required for this early career role. An associate’s degree combined with relevant professional experience will also be given consideration.
• Experience: Prior experience managing core transactional accounting functions. Experience in startup or growth environments is preferred, along with the ability to provide finance-related administrative support.
• Skills: Proficiency with Google Sheets and Excel is essential. Candidates must be highly organized with strong attention to detail, possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, and demonstrate the ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines.
• Bonus: Experience utilizing specific accounting software, including QuickBooks Online, Justworks, Bill.com, and Ramp, is preferred.
