Accounting Assistant | Valley Hospitality

The Tone:
This role is with Valley Hospitality, supporting the financial operations for our diverse portfolio of hotel and restaurant properties. This position is vital for ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of daily accounting processes, from managing accounts payable to assisting with critical month-end activities. The Accounting Assistant plays a key role in maintaining robust financial records and providing essential support to the entire accounting department.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Reporting: Generate reports tracking payments, bank deposits, and account reconciliations to ensure financial clarity.
• Accounts Payable: Process invoices, manage manual check payments for petty cash, and record cost of goods sold for food and beverage.
• Vendor Reconciliation: Review and reconcile vendor statements to ensure accurate account balances and foster clear vendor relationships.
• Daily Deposits: Post daily financial deposits for both hotel and restaurant properties, maintaining precise cash flow records.
• Month-End Support: Assist with bank reconciliations, various financial reports, and the timely completion of month-end closings.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. High School Diploma or GED required, providing a foundational understanding for financial support roles.
• Experience: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, and Word, is essential for daily tasks.
• Skills: Strong written and verbal communication, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to manage sensitive, confidential information while maintaining composure in stressful situations.
• Bonus: Prior accounting or office experience is preferred, offering a valuable head start in this role.
