What You’ll Actually Do
• Document: Prepare complete and easy-to-follow workpapers explaining accounting issues, procedures, and conclusions.
• Review: Examine crypto subledger activity and supporting transaction-level detail to ensure completeness, accuracy, and appropriate accounting treatment.
• Reconcile: Investigate reconciliation differences, escalate issues timely, and partner with Crypto Operations and other cross-functional teams to resolve variances.
• Support: Assist in the monthly and year-end close processes, contribute to annual audits, and perform analytical reviews of the Balance Sheet and Income Statement.
• Optimize: Support the enhancement and documentation of crypto accounting processes, controls, reconciliations, and policies.
• Report: Prepare supporting schedules and financial statement tie-outs for SEC disclosures on a quarterly and annual basis under public company accounting standards.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business, coupled with applied working knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and accounting procedures.
• Experience: Early career professional seeking to develop accounting and operational skills within a financial services environment.
• Skills: Strong organizational, analytical, mathematical, and project management abilities; proficiency in Excel, Word, and general ledger systems; knowledge of accounting theory and practice, including balance sheets, income statements, and mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, and ratios.
• Bonus: Experience with Workday Financials, CPA certification, audit experience, or prior accounting experience in digital assets, brokerage, payments, banking, or fintech.
