Junior Staff Accountant | Northeast Bank

• Mission: Perform essential accounting administration, with a strong focus on supporting accounting systems and refining financial processes.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Core banking system (preferred)

What You’ll Actually Do
• General Ledger Operations: Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger, assisting with general ledger maintenance and integration.
• Financial Reconciliation: Prepare daily and monthly reconciliations, coordinating with other departments to clear aged reconciling items.
• Month-End Close Contribution: Assist significantly with the month-end close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Reporting and Analysis: Prepare both recurring and ad hoc reports, providing valuable data for decision-making.
• Loan Transaction Processing: Support the complete loan sale and reporting process, including preparation of sale summaries, booking gain on sales, and recording monthly income and loan activity.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Early-Career professional with a Bachelor’s Degree in accounting/finance, or possessing equivalent banking/accounting experience.
• Experience: Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Skills: Strong attention to detail, fundamental accounting knowledge, and good organizational skills.
• Bonus: Prior experience with a core banking system is preferred.
