New Accounts Specialist | Sentry Management Inc.

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Sentry Management Inc., located in Longwood, FL. Sentry Management operates a busy Home Office, providing essential services to support community managers and the financial integrity of new accounts. This Accountant role is critical for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and facilitating smooth operations within our growing New Accounts Department.

• Mission: Own the accurate preparation and reporting of financial statements and general ledger entries for new accounts, ensuring compliance and operational efficiency.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

What You’ll Actually Do
• Prepare and accurately post general ledger journal entries, ensuring correct coding and appropriate accruals are consistently applied, and verify these entries by collaborating closely with corresponding departments for accuracy.
• Ensure all financial entries adhere to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and AICPA standards, upholding professional accounting guidelines.
• Produce 30-35 comprehensive financial statements monthly, adhering strictly to time-mandated schedules and internal deadlines.
• Input annual budgets that have been prepared by Community Managers, ensuring all data is entered precisely and promptly into the accounting system.
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with Community Managers regarding their financials, providing clarity and support as needed.
• Conduct thorough research pertaining to prior management accounting records and diligently perform other assigned tasks under the direction of management.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-level to mid-career professional with a solid understanding of fundamental accounting principles, including debits, credits, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and AICPA standards.
• Experience: Proven proficiency in utilizing Microsoft Office software, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook, for various accounting and communication tasks.
• Skills: Possess excellent written and oral communication skills, strong analytical capabilities, and a keen attention to detail. Must be a self-starter who is highly organized, capable of planning and managing multiple tasks effectively, and exhibits a high energy, positive attitude, and adaptability to change while collaborating with team members and clients.
