Accountant II | Beckman Coulter Diagnostics
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Beckman Coulter Diagnostics, located in Brea, CA, requiring an onsite presence. Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is one of Danaher’s 15+ operating companies, a global leader in clinical diagnostics with over 90 years of history, whose work helps save lives. This role is crucial for ensuring the timely and accurate reporting of financial results by managing general ledger activities, performing accounting close tasks, and executing the global Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) testing plan.

• Mission: Owns closing the books and reporting financial results in a timely and accurate manner by performing general ledger, accounting close, and Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) testing activities.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Account Management: Manage multiple general ledger accounts, including accruals, and general closing activities.
• Financial Close: Prepare month-end journal entries, reconciliations, and support accurate financial close processes.
• Audit Collaboration: Collaborate with various departments globally to obtain and review supporting documents and processes for SOX audits.
• Process Improvement: Identify, recommend, and actively participate in business process improvement opportunities.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related business field. This is an early-level accounting position. Core domain knowledge includes general accounting principles and Sarbanes‑Oxley (SOX) requirements.
• Experience: 2+ years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree OR 0-2 years experience with a Master’s degree. Demonstrated working knowledge of Sarbanes‑Oxley (SOX) requirements, including documentation, testing, and evaluation of internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR).
• Skills: Ability to work independently with appropriate guidance, manage multiple concurrent tasks, and meet established project deadlines.
• Bonus: General Ledger and/or public accounting experience from a Big4 or mid-tier firm, a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, and working experience with accounting software such as Oracle and MS Office.
