Accountant | Aegis Worldwide

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Aegis Worldwide, located in Fort Worth, TX. As an Accountant, you will be crucial in maintaining the integrity of financial data, preparing essential reports, and performing detailed analyses. This position directly supports the company’s operational efficiency by ensuring all financial activities adhere to established policies and GAAP standards. What You’ll Actually Do
• General Ledger and Month-End: Manage general ledger activities, prepare specific monthly journal entries, sales tax returns, and analyze warranty expense accounts to support month-end closing processes.
• Financial Reporting and Reconciliation: Prepare comprehensive bank reconciliations for all operating, disbursement, payroll, and investment accounts, along with trial balance analysis, and resolve any discrepancies within general accounting functions.
• Cost and Production Analysis: Settle and close production orders, investigate production variances, and assemble plant expense analyses, providing regular updates to staff.
• Budget Compliance and Audit: Reconcile all expenses against budget allocations, conduct internal financial audits and cycle count audits, issuing necessary reports, while ensuring adherence to GAAP, company policies, and federal/state regulations.
• Operational Financial Support: Coordinate accounts payable for plant operations, review purchase orders for exceptions, provide utility use and expenditure analysis for senior management, and offer backup support for payroll, daily invoicing, and sales updating, including payroll approval.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field, suitable for an early career accountant.
• Experience: A preferred internship, co-op, or 1-2 years of professional accounting experience.
• Skills: Strong proficiency in Excel, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data analysis.
• Bonus: Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, Infor, Epicor, NetSuite), manufacturing or inventory accounting exposure, and specific SAP knowledge are a plus.
