What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Transactions: Perform various accounting duties and record financial transactions accurately.
• Fund Management: Provide essential support for the receiving and disbursing of university funds.
• Reporting: Generate routine financial reports and statements as a primary responsibility.
• Data Analysis: Analyze financial and statistical data, drawing conclusions and interpreting information using Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Professional Growth: Expand practical experience and develop professional judgment in applying accounting principles through work assignments under experienced guidance.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-level position requiring a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent relevant education and/or experience demonstrating acquired accounting knowledge and abilities.
• Experience: General knowledge and understanding of accounting principles and practices; advanced proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet software programs, web browsers, query tools, integrated financial systems, and/or other records management systems.
• Skills: General knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP); understanding of office methods and procedures; ability to interpret instructions, analyze data, utilize problem-solving techniques, and communicate effectively with both accountants and non-accountants.
