Accountant, Entry Level | Robinson Helicopter Company

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Robinson Helicopter Company, located in Torrance, CA. Founded in 1973, Robinson is a leading manufacturer of civil helicopters, known for its commitment to affordable, quality aircraft with diverse applications and a strong engineering focus. This role supports the essential day-to-day operations of the Finance Department, directly contributing to the accuracy and integrity of the Company’s financial records. It provides an early-career professional with a strong foundation in corporate accounting within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

• Mission: Supports the Finance Department’s daily operations by performing various accounting functions to maintain accurate and reliable financial records.
• Tech Stack: ERP or accounting software, Microsoft Excel

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Operations Management: Perform monthly corporate credit card reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and assist with processing accounts payable, including invoice matching, coding, and vendor setup.
• Revenue Cycle Support: Support accounts receivable activities such as cash application, payment tracking, collections assistance, and customer account reconciliation.
• General Ledger Activities: Prepare account reconciliations, resolve outstanding variances, assist with journal entry preparation, and maintain accurate accounting records and electronic files.
• Reporting & Compliance: Prepare financial reports and schedules using Microsoft Excel, respond to internal inquiries, and review employee expense documentation for company policy compliance.
• Period-End & Audit Assistance: Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, and assist with internal and external audits by gathering required documentation and schedules.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; basic understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Experience: 0–2 years of accounting experience, including internships, demonstrating an ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, excellent attention to detail and accuracy, strong organizational and time management skills, and effective written and verbal communication.
• Bonus: Prior internship or experience in corporate accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, or bookkeeping; experience working in a manufacturing environment; experience using ERP or accounting software; intermediate Microsoft Excel skills including formulas, lookups, pivot tables, and data analysis; CPA eligibility or plans to pursue professional certification.
