• Mission: Administer, account for, reconcile, and disburse federal, state, institutional, and private student financial aid funds in a timely and compliant manner.
• Tech Stack: Banner ERP, ARGOS reporting, Excel, banking cash management platforms, approved Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies
What You’ll Actually Do
• Administration: Administer, account for, reconcile, and disburse federal, state, institutional, and private student financial aid funds.
• Cash Management: Manage cash flow activities, monitor bank accounts, and process ACH and wire transfers.
• Financial Processing: Administer student refunds and prepare accounting and reconciliation entries, ensuring compliance with regulations.
• Customer Service: Respond to inquiries from students, parents, faculty, and staff regarding financial aid disbursements, refund eligibility, and related transactions.
• Process Improvement: Identify, evaluate, and implement process improvements, automation, and emerging technologies to enhance Bursar’s Office operations.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
• Experience: A minimum of one year of related progressive accounting experience working with financial systems, spreadsheets, and reporting tools.
• Skills: Knowledge of accounting principles, financial reconciliation processes, cash management practices, strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills.
• Bonus: Experience in higher education accounting, student financial services, or financial aid administration, familiarity with Banner ERP, ARGOS reporting, Excel, and banking cash management platforms, knowledge of federal Title IV regulations, and experience with audit support or compliance reporting.
