The Tone:
This Accountant role is located in Williamsport, PA at Shop Vac USA, LLC. As a wholly owned subsidiary of GreatStar Tools USA, Shop Vac USA is home to the Shop Vac brand, a global leader in wet dry vacuums, and also supports SK Professional Tools and TESA USA. Shop Vac USA, LLC operates under Hangzhou Greatstar Industrial, Ltd., one of the world’s largest manufacturers of hand tools. This position is crucial for supporting the finance and accounting team by ensuring accurate financial reporting and maintaining robust internal controls.

• Team: Finance & Accounting team, reports to Accounting Manager
• Mission: This person supports financial operations by assisting with monthly close, reconciliations, financial analysis, and control functions across multiple business brands.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office Excel, SAP (a plus)

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports.
• Accounting Controls: Maintain accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures and substantiating financial transactions.
• Month-End Close: Support month-end and year-end close processes, including preparing journal entries and reviewing GR/IR balances.
• Account Reconciliation: Reconcile balance sheet accounts each month and verify, allocate, post, and reconcile transactions.
• Tax Compliance: Prepare and file monthly and quarterly sales and use tax returns.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with foundational knowledge of GAAP, financial statements, and internal control procedures.
• Experience: 1+ years of accounting or finance experience, including internships or co-ops.
• Skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel and spreadsheet building, detail-oriented, ability to work independently, and strong oral and written communication skills.
• Bonus: SAP experience; experience in a manufacturing, distribution, or consumer products company.
