The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Shop Vac USA, LLC, located in Williamsport, PA. Shop Vac USA is a wholly owned subsidiary of GreatStar Tools USA, one of the world’s largest manufacturers of hand tools for DIY, professional, and industrial channels. At its Williamsport location, Shop Vac USA is home to the Shop Vac brand, known as the world leader in heavy-duty wet dry vacuums, and also supports the SK Professional Tools and TESA USA businesses. This Accountant position is a critical onsite team player, directly contributing to the financial health and operational success of these businesses by ensuring accurate accounting and control functions.

• Team: Reports to the Accounting Manager within the Finance & Accounting Department.
• Mission: Support the accounting team by ensuring accurate financial records, performing analysis, and assisting with key AR/AP and inventory control functions.
• Tech Stack: SAP, Microsoft Office Excel

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statements, and various other financial reports.
• Transaction Management: Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile financial transactions, auditing documents to substantiate financial activities.
• Month-End Procedures: Support comprehensive month-end and year-end close processes, including the preparation of journal entries and review of GR/IR balances.
• Asset & Tax Compliance: Maintain Fixed Asset and CIP systems, perform physical asset inventory audits, and prepare/file monthly and quarterly sales and use tax returns.
• Operational Support: Provide primary backup for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions, assist with W9 database maintenance, and prepare intercompany invoicing.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, with core knowledge of income statement preparation, balance sheet analysis, GAAP, and internal control procedures.
• Experience: 1+ years of accounting or finance experience (including internships/co-ops), with a preference for manufacturing, distribution, or consumer products environments.
• Skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel for spreadsheet building, detail-orientation and thoroughness, strong oral and written communication skills, and the ability to work independently while being a team player.
• Bonus: Familiarity with SAP systems.
