What You’ll Actually Do
• Maintain: Accounting records for an assigned department or college, ensuring compliance with current policies and procedures.
• Reconcile: Financial transactions and statements, auditing documents to confirm accuracy of records and accounts.
• Generate: Scheduled and ad hoc financial reports, including daily and monthly analyses, to assess account activity.
• Support: Faculty, staff, and campus partners by responding to inquiries and providing tutorials related to agency and general ledger transactions.
• Improve: Business efficiencies by reviewing accounting processes, identifying resolutions to issues, and recommending best practices.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education in Accounting or a related field, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
• Experience: One (1) year of related work experience. Previous experience reviewing and reconciling statements is preferred.
• Skills: Knowledge of KSU, Board of Regents, and State of Georgia Accounting Policies and Procedures; proficiency with Microsoft Office suite; excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Bonus: Familiarity with PeopleSoft Financials and Banner; an advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education related to accounting, finance, business, or other related field.
