The Tone:
This is a full-time role at IPM Integrated Project Management Company, located in the Greater Chicago Area. IPM is an integrated project management firm where finance is a strategic partner, providing accurate, timely, and reliable information crucial for the company’s success and longevity. This role is an important link between operations and financial planning, ensuring proper compensation and acting as an ambassador for IPM with clients. The Accountant’s efforts in maintaining accuracy, timeliness, and confidentiality are essential to the company’s financial health.

• Mission: Protect IPM’s financial interests, manage project budgets, and provide accurate financial insights to ensure the company is properly compensated.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office, Excel, accounting software, ERP software (Deltek Vision, Deltek Vantagepoint a plus), Microsoft PowerBI a plus

What You’ll Actually Do
• Project Review: Review all project proposals to protect IPM’s financial interests before client submission.
• Accounts Receivable: Manage customer invoicing, purchase orders, billing requirements, and follow up on past due invoices.
• Project Accounting: Set up and maintain project terms, create new project numbers, record budgets, and determine monthly revenue recognition.
• Consultant Support: Act as a resource to consultants, assisting them with the financial control of their projects.
• Subsidiary Bookkeeping: Manage monthly end-to-end bookkeeping for IPM Founder’s subsidiary business, including financial records and reporting.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance with working knowledge of GAAP.
• Experience: 2+ years of accounting-related experience (including internships/co-op programs), experience with cash and accrual basis accounting methods, and exposure to an ERP software.
• Skills: Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel, aptitude for accounting software, ability to handle highly sensitive information confidentially, and utmost attention to accuracy.
• Bonus: Experience with Deltek Vision or Deltek Vantagepoint, skills with manipulation and analysis of data in Excel, and experience with Microsoft PowerBI.
