2027 Financial Audit Intern | Fifth Third Bank

The Tone:
This is a seasonal internship at Fifth Third Bank, located in Cincinnati, OH. The Leadership Program (LP) Internship is designed to immerse students in various banking disciplines, offering meaningful work experience within a specific line of business or division, such as Financial Audit. This role is crucial for developing future talent, providing on-the-job training, networking opportunities, and leadership development. Interns contribute to day-to-day activities and projects, operate as team members on larger initiatives, and work independently on smaller projects, all while ensuring accountability for risk and a positive customer experience.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Assignments: Perform specific assignments as determined by the Assignment Leader within the Financial Audit function.
• Projects: Execute and manage specific projects assigned by the Assignment Leader or Program Manager, including reporting on project status.
• Development: Actively participate in leadership development activities, which include training classes and speaker series, to supplement on-the-job learning.
• Networking: Build a valuable network of resources within the assigned line of business, division, or across various bank functions.
• Presentation: Deliver a formal presentation to line of business or division leaders, showcasing insights and project outcomes.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-level position for a rising senior currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree, with an anticipated graduation in December 2027 or May 2028. Candidates must demonstrate a strong academic record, targeting a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA, and express a keen interest in pursuing a career within the banking sector. Authorization to work in the U.S. without employment-based immigration sponsorship, now or in the future, is also required.
• Experience: Solid candidates should possess relevant internship and/or prior work experience. This role requires demonstrated proficiency in critical thinking, leadership, business acumen, relationship building, and teamwork, evidenced through extracurricular activities, previous work experience, or academic pursuits.
• Skills: Possess strong written and verbal communication skills, effectively choosing the most appropriate communication method and responding quickly to requests. Demonstrate entry-level use and basic familiarity with Microsoft Office Products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Exhibit professional customer service skills, capable of responding to standard requests from internal and external customers. Able to solve routine problems by following defined procedures and manage own time to meet deadlines with guidance from others.
• Bonus: Major in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related degree is preferred for this role.
