2027 Finance Summer Internship – Early Careers | Wells Fargo

The Tone:
This is a summer internship at Wells Fargo, located in Charlotte, NC, Irving, TX, or Minneapolis, MN. Wells Fargo is a leading financial services company, a significant global employer with a diverse range of operations, including accounting, financial planning, treasury, and investment management. This role is crucial for developing future talent within the company’s Finance organization. Participants will gain immersive, real-world experience, developing a comprehensive understanding of Wells Fargo’s business strategies, financial management activities, and organizational culture, which are essential foundations for a successful finance career.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Engage: Support Wells Fargo’s financial expectations across various finance disciplines within the Finance organization.
• Train: Participate in formal onboarding, orientation, and ongoing training opportunities designed to prepare you for a finance career.
• Develop: Receive coaching and leverage networking opportunities to support your professional growth and development.
• Explore: Gain exposure to multiple business lines and a broad range of finance-related responsibilities.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level: Bachelor’s degree candidate with an expected graduation between December 2027 and June 2028. Preferred majors include Finance, Accounting, Business Data & Analytics, Economics, Statistics, Applied Math, or Business Administration/Business Management, providing a strong analytical foundation for the role.
• Experience: Candidates must demonstrate at least 6 months of prior work experience, or equivalent experience gained through training programs, military service, or academic endeavors. This foundational experience should showcase a proactive approach and a genuine interest in learning and growth within a professional setting.
• Skills: Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, is required. Candidates should possess basic proficiency in analytics tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx, Python, or SQL. Familiarity with AI-powered productivity tools, like chat-based assistants and Microsoft Copilot, to support research, information organization, and presentation creation, is also expected, with a strong interest in responsible usage. Demonstrated problem analysis and solving skills are essential.
• Bonus: Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills are highly valued. Ideal candidates are energetic self-starters who can collaborate effectively as part of a team or committee, while also demonstrating the ability to work independently in a change-driven environment. Strong organizational skills, the ability to manage time, set priorities, and meet deadlines are preferred. Involvement in extracurricular enrichment activities, such as volunteerism, student organizations, study abroad, or leadership roles, is a plus. Candidates with demonstrated knowledge, interest, or experience in the financial services industry, corporate accounting, data management, reporting, visualization, or analytics will stand out.
