Summer Internship – Accounting | PACCAR Parts

The Tone:
This is an in-person summer internship at PACCAR Parts, designed to immerse students in core accounting functions. PACCAR Inc. is a global leader in commercial vehicles, financial services, and truck parts, with recognized brands like Kenworth, Peterbilt, and DAF. This role provides an opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience, learn from top professionals, and develop foundational accounting skills directly supporting the company’s aftermarket operations.

• Mission: Provide hands-on accounting support and experience across cost accounting, general accounting, and internal control/financial analysis functions.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Journal Entries: Prepare and process various journal entries for financial records.
• Reconciliations: Complete account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
• Process Improvements: Lead or assist with projects focused on process enhancement, including six sigma, lean, or robotic process automation initiatives.
• General Accounting Support: Provide general accounting functions to support dealership operations and business units.
• Cost Analysis: Conduct detailed cost analysis within accounting frameworks to inform financial decisions.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting.
• Experience: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication, strong analytical abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Bonus: Junior or senior standing in an Accounting degree program.
