Intern, Corporate Tax Group (Summer 2027) | Martin Marietta

The Tone:
This is an approximately 10-week internship at Martin Marietta, located in Raleigh, NC. Martin Marietta is a leading organization committed to building America’s infrastructure. This role offers meaningful, hands-on experience in a corporate tax environment, supporting essential financial reporting, business operations, and informed decision-making across the organization.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Support: Assist tax managers and team members in preparing and processing federal, state, and local tax filings and payments.
• Analyze: Perform various tax-specific calculations, reconciliations, and mining industry-related tax analyses.
• Coordinate: Maintain tax compliance calendars and deadlines by coordinating jurisdictional filing requirements.
• Gather: Collect, organize, and analyze financial and operational data from ERP systems and other accounting tools.
• Improve: Create, update, and maintain process documentation, workflow diagrams, and materials for process improvement, tax savings, and automation efforts.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting. Entry-Level.
• Experience: No specific years required; experience with Microsoft Office applications and accounting systems is preferred.
• Skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel; ability to research, learn, and work independently; strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail; strong verbal and written communication skills, including articulating ideas; strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Bonus: Ability to quickly learn new systems and adapt to emerging technologies.
